About two years ago I had decided that I was going to start the process of reclaiming my Italian citizenship. I made my appointment with the Italian consulate in NYC. I made a list of documents I needed, along with an even longer list of possible problems with the documents. Ugh!!! Feeling overwhelmed, I haven't made much progress.
I canceled my appointment for this month and rescheduled. With the NJ consulate closing and their workload being absorbed by the NYC consulate, the earliest I could reschedule for was July 2016. Ugh again!! I really made a mistake by procrastinating.
So now is my time to really do this! I'm not going to be overwhelmed. I'm going to stay positive. I'm going to be an Italian Citizen! I have enough time - I CAN DO THIS!
I turned to many internet sites the past two years, which also lead to the overwhelming and the confusion. So here's my story, my journey. I hope it helps someone else thru their process.
